Kumbh Mela

The Kumbh Mela This holy event occurs every 4 years on a rotation between four holy locations and returning to a location after 12 years. In 2010, from January through April, the Purna (full) Kumbh Mela will be held in Haridwar, India on the banks of the Ganges. By bathing in the Ganges at certain special times during the Mela (fair), it is said that the Karma of many lifetimes will be washed away.

Millions of pilgrims from around the world will make the holy journey, including many monks and ascetics (sadhus). Gurudev and his followers will be organizing a camp that will continue from January through April, to feed the sadhus and sadhvins (holy men and women) as well as those poor people in need who have made the long journey to Haridwar but don't have the means. Gurudev's Ashram near Haridwar, Baglamukhi Peeth, will also be distributing clothes and other essentials to the sadhus and the indigent.

Our Mission

The mission of the Padmashree Foundation is to enable the spiritual upliftment of humanity by spreading the message of universal love, compassion, and peace through the practice of prayer, meditation, and selfless service.

The Padmashri Pith was established in 1996 in Vasai (near Mumbai, India) by His Holiness Sadgurudev Rahuleshwaranandji.

His Holiness left home when he was 18 to embrace the life of a monk and seek spiritual knowledge. After 15 years of penance and meditation in the Himalaya, he returned to the world to impart his knowledge and spread his message.

In 2005, His Holiness's supporters established the Padmashree Foundation to carry on his activities in the United States of America. The Foundation conducts prayers, meditation retreats, and other service and community activites that provide a living example of His Holiness's message.
